Autoresponders
Autoresponders reply to incoming email messages automatically. An autoresponder could be used to send "more information" to persons that send email to a specific address, such as info@yourdomain.com. If you have ever sent an email and received a reply within 5 minutes, you probably received a message automatically generated by an autoresponder.

Cron Jobs
Cron is the ability to run programs based on the system clock. We
allow up to one operation per day. We provide help on creating your cron job and submitting it for inclusion ().
Custom Error Page
This is the page that is displayed when someone tries to access a page on your domain that does not exist. This page is fully customizable.
Data Transfer
Your total traffic allowance includes www and ftp usage. This is how many files may be viewed or
downloaded from your domain. Each gigabyte of transfer is equal to approximately 85,000 hits! You can monitor your usage by logging into your Control Panel.
Disk Space
Disk space is the total amount of allocated storage space for all HTML files, scripts, logs, stats, databases, and on the Ensim servers, e-mails. Separate storage is allocated for each e-mail account (mailbox) on the Plusmail Servers.
Domain Redirection
With Domain Redirection, you can redirect an unlimited number of parked domains to subdirectories on your site.
Email Aliases, Redirects, and Catch-all
You can forward email addresses for your domain name to any other email address. The email can be forwarded to another email address
you have setup for your domain name or it can be forwarded outside our network (i.e., to an AOL account).
We have designed our networks to automatically capture any name that may be sent to your domain name. As long as you do not remove or modify the catch-all settings for your domain's e-mail, anything sent to @yourdomain.com will automatically be forwarded to your default account.
Error Logs
Error logs will list the errors that occur with a cgi script. The log is located in
the home directory of your domain. This is useful for script installation and development.
FTP/Telnet (SSH) Access
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a simple method of uploading files from your computer to the I-dentity server.
is a freeware FTP client for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP using SSH (Secure Shell). If your plan does not include SSH, you can use a program like
to upload/download files.
SSH (Secure Shell) is a program that enables you to log into a remote host/terminal securely as though that terminal were attached directly to our server.
From Telnet, you can perform advanced (and basic) features like compiling a program, archiving files, etc. Most likely, if you don't know what Telnet is, you don't need it. Most Telnet features (like CHMOD, which is used to change file permissions) can be done through FTP.
You will need to use a program supporting SSH to log into your server. If you are using a Windows environment, there's a freeware program called "Putty" that you can download from .
If you are using a Mac, there's a free program called "Nifty SSH" you can download from .
Within the program, make sure you select SSH. This will change the Port to 22. Your host name is your domain name (do not put "www" or "http://" in front of the domain name; just the domain name including the extension). Your login is the same as
sent in your Welcome! email.
Formmail
These are online forms that allow you to collect data from a visitor to the site. Once the visitor has submitted the form, the server will forward the data to an email address specified by you.

Graphic Counter
Counters record the number of hits to your site. A graphical counter displays this information graphically. I-dentity provides two types of graphical counters—one is a simple counter while the other includes various stats such as time and date of the visit and domains from which your visitor came.
IMAP emails
IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. It is a method of accessing electronic mail or bulletin board messages that are kept on a (possibly shared) mail server. In other words, it permits a "client" email program to access remote message stores as if they were local. For example, email stored on an IMAP server can be manipulated from a desktop computer at home, a workstation at the office, and a notebook computer while traveling, without the need to transfer messages or files back and forth between these computers.
IMAP's ability to access messages (both new and saved) from more than one computer has become extremely important as reliance on electronic messaging and use of multiple computers increase, but this functionality cannot be taken for granted: the widely used Post Office Protocol (POP) works best when one has only a single computer, since it was designed to support "offline" message access, wherein messages are downloaded and then deleted from the mail server. This mode of access is not compatible with access from multiple computers since it tends to sprinkle messages across all of the computers used for mail access. Thus, unless all of those machines share a common file system, the offline mode of access that POP was designed to support effectively ties the user to one computer for message storage and manipulation.

Majordomo is a highly interactive, full featured program that allows everyone
subscribed to the list to interact and post to the list. With Majordomo, list
management is automated. Commands are sent to Majordomo via
email to handle all aspects of list maintenance. Once a list is setup, virtually
all operations can be performed remotely. Each list can email up to 1,500 mails per day.
Microsoft FrontPage
This is Microsoft's Web page editor. It requires you own the Frontpage software and have it installed on your PC. Though FrontPage does not completely disable regular cgi access, there will be a few scripts that will not work properly while this is in use.
There is no additional charge to have the extensions installed for your domain. Microsoft provides direct support for all FrontPage users.
Miva Empresa
Miva Empresa enables the server to run XML-based Miva Script, commerce processing and database. Miva Script applications running under Miva

Multi User Forums

MySQL Database
MySQL is a true multi-user, multi-threaded SQL (Structured
Query Language) database server. MySQL is a client/server
implementation that consists of a server daemon mysqld and
many different client programs/libraries.
Parked Domains
Parking additional domains is having several virtual domains point to the same home page as your primary domain name. Many companies do this to protect their name. Keep in mind that parking additional domain names does not include any applicable domain registration fees.
Password Protected Folders
When visitors try to access a password-protected page, they are prompted for a username and password. They cannot view this page unless they have a valid username and password.
PHP
PHP is a third-party scripting engine. To use PHP on your domain, your files need to end with .php rather than .html.

There is a limit of 1,000 subscribers per list, and you can email a message up to 75k.

POP Email Accounts
POP stands for "Post Office Protocol" and is the method that email programs, such as Eudora, Netscape Mail, Microsoft Exchange, etc., use to retrieve email. Each POP account has its own unique login and password. Multiple POP accounts work well if you need email addresses for several people within your organization.
NOTE: Plans on the Plusmail Servers can send/receive email attachments up to 5 mb.
Plans on the Ensim Servers can send/receive email attachments up to 10 mb.
Mailboxes on the Plusmail Servers have a 10 mb storage limit per mailbox.
Mailboxes on the Ensim Servers do not have a preset limit — you assign the limit.
Postcards
This is a ready-to-run script with several pictures and sound files set to run.
It's a freeware script and knowledgable clients will be able to customize the
pictures.
PostNuke Content Management
PostNuke is a community, content, and collaborative management system for building dynamic Websites.
You can use PostNuke as a company-wide newsletter for general news and announcements. You can use it
as a place to store revisions of a document, or even have your co-workers collaborate on the document. It's
also a good tool for keeping track of projects: you can post status reports, assignments or data pertinent to your
projects. Your co-workers can be notified by email whenever you update your work blog.
Pro Links
This script allows you to set up a page that visitors can add links to in specific categories. Newest links are added to the top of each category. A running total of the number of links present as well as the time when the last link was added is shown at the top of the page.
Quiz Master
This freeware script allows you to create up to 25 multiple choice questions
from your browser that your visitors can take and lets them know how they
did.
RealAudio/RealVideo
RealAudio/RealVideo is a client-server-based streaming media system for the Internet. Providers of news, entertainment, sports, and business content can create and deliver audio- and video-based multimedia through the Internet to audiences worldwide.
Our RealServer supports RealPix, RealText, SMIL and RTSP. RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) is a protocol developed by Real Networks. Just as File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is the best protocol for transferring large files, RTSP is the best protocol for streaming multimedia applications.
Referer Logs
This is an extended logging feature that will document where each visitor came from. You will know if they found you from a search engine, another Web site, link, etc. This is invaluable information when planning your site's marketing.
Server Side Includes (SSI)
SSI, or Server-Side Includes, allows the server to parse special page commands. For example, if you want a footer on all your pages which may change from time to time, you can create a text file with the desired footer information and place it in your domain. On the pages where the footer is to appear, you add a "simple include" to read that file and place it at the bottom of the desired pages.
SFE PageSearch
Another freeware script that we found hard to believe there was no licensing
fees. This is a full-featured search script that performs its searches based
on a prior index made of all the pages in the site. The script is very
lightweight resource-wise and very fast at returning results and works with
boolean logic.

Spam Rejection Script

The way it works is that when someone sends you mail from an address from which you have never received mail before, their mail will be stored away without delivering it to you. The sender will receive a message explaining that their mail has not been delivered yet. When they reply to that message as instructed, their original message will be delivered instead, and their address will be added to the list of addresses from which to accept mail in the future.
